Arlen built his first website at age 13. As Brighten Labs has grown, everyone else has taken over the web development work and left him to do the "business stuff". Now he spends his time carefully caring for our customers and team, when he's not dreaming up the next big thing.
Arlen also enjoys hanging out with his wife, Laura: cooking up new dishes, reading great stories, and preparing for their little miracle due in September, 2010.
Mark believes anything is possible, and gets excited when he finds a simple, elegant way to make it happen. He thrives on developing creative solutions to problems within the demands of real world projects.
Although he's been coding happily since age eight, he also enjoys gardening with his wife, Sarah, playing fetch with his cat Ada, walking in the woods, and crunching numbers as treasurer for a small private elementary school.
Evan won't let good enough alone. While he's mostly obsessed with experimenting on the frontier of web development, his creative eye and perfectionist streak serve him well with user interface and marketing design.
When he's not overworking himself, Evan enjoys photography, backpacking with his wife, Joni, and snowboarding whenever he gets a chance.

Project Coordinator / Interface DeveloperSarah’s able to cut through details and perfectionism to get things done lightning fast in her areas of strength, and yet bring in refinement at just the right time. She brings a practical perspective and a willing spirit to our team.
Sarah is an artist and avid knitter.
Rob loves creating simple solutions to complex problems. Before beginning work at Brighten, he taught website design and development to many first time web developers.
Originally from Ottawa, Canada, Rob enjoys cooking (especially Indian food), teaching, biking, and hiking.
